Apperciate a Dragon 2024

So January 16th is Appreciate a Dragon day. The whole point being to celebrate you favorite Dragons from media. So! What/which Dragons from Media do you appreciate?

Right off the bat I'm going with the book "Dragon Rider" by Cornelia Funke. This is what took me from "Dragons are just another creature" to "I am a Dragon" within a week. Granted my 5th grade school library had the most rotten, moldy copy of it I've even seen in any book; the only reason I was allowed to even check it out once the librarian saw it is because I put up a fight, and it was the near the end of the school year. It was a good book! I have two copies of it, as well as a part two, something that I haven't gotten around to reading yet.

This is why my Dragonsona predates me knowing what a furry was. That blue/purple Dragon exists because I read this book and went "That's me. I'm the Dragon." I designed that Dragon in 2009, and it wasn't until I got my first laptop in 2013 and was googling Dragon pictures that I learned what a furry was.

Gotta give a shoutout to Kyurem of course !!! Druddigon, Appletun, and Dragonite too! and the Neopets dragons are all delights...and right now Maleficent is on my mind because i have a big plush of her in my kitchen right now haha. i've also decided i need a plush of Figment eventually...

Galore and Joxar from Flight Rising are very important!! I love honestly the entire cast of Dragon Tales, I can't even pick a fave they're just all so important. My formative dragons... Boris from My Father's Dragon too!! and Fangora from Kirby c:

shoutout to charizard, was my favourite pokemon as a kid! then there's literally every dragon in magic the gathering, I tried to collect each of them (what a foolish bird I was). also uhhh auroth one of my dota 2 mains during tune brief period I played that game, she's great. I feel like I should mention some book here too but time is running out rrrrrr
