Floppy Management

Getting ready for a vacation here on Halloween week, so I'm getting things ready for it
One of those things, is getting my camera ready :) :floppy3: :floppy3: :floppy3:

I need to make sure I have some good working storage media for my Sony Mavica FD-73 :heart_blue: I went through and formatted all the floppies I have to see if any were bad or unstable. Here are the results:
Out of 88 disks
:floppy3: 55 are wiped and ready to go
:floppy5: 3 of those were dead on Windows, but formatting them on the camera saved them
:floppy3: 6 have things on it I'm not ready to wipe
:floppy3: 6 can be read by my camera but failed on Windows 10
:floppy3: 2 have damaged covers, and will get stuck if I inserted them
:floppy3: 23 can't be read at all :pensive:

That 23 is less than the last time I did this back in 2019, which means either I was able to save a few, or I've lost some dead ones since then. I'm still keeping them, as I'm confident that most aren't truly dead, just need something to brute force a partition on them. Anyways, point is I have enough stuff for my vacation (:

By using FDISK on my Microsoft DOS 5.0 laptop, I was able to successfully save 5 more from the bad pile, and fix those that could only be read on the camera and not the PC
Alas, I still have a box of floppies that won’t format :pensive: I DO have two boxes of working floppies, so it’s not a HUGE bummer :)
